The Scoop

Through the Looking Glass (Page 1)

By Robert Alescio

Less than one year into collecting diecast cars, I, like Alice, fell down a rabbit hole. After posting a photo of a gorgeous Delahaye on the Diecast Zone Bulletin Board, I received an email from Alan Novak of Motor City USA, the same MC USA that gave us the iconic ’37 Talbot-Lago. Alan, who has an eye for beautiful cars, asked: “Would you happen to know the type it is called and if one exists, and if so, who would we contact to perhaps photograph and measure it for a potential model?”

Model Tool Musings

We have all held a model tool in our hands at one time or another. So I thought it might be fun to share with you how it came about and how it's now part of product.

I have a few really good modeling buddies that I pal around with. One such friend is Tom Buesgen. Tom and I go way back and by chance, re-met at a model car meeting ages ago. We re-met because in the course of our friendship, I borrowed Tom's drag racing photo albums and spotted a picture he took of me years prior.

The Old Reliable Pickup Truck

There are a lot of stories out there on this unique little truck, so I decided to set the record straight and share some studio shots of the prototype I made for Franklin Mint during my time there.
